The Oxnard College Condors (0-2-2) came from behind to secure a 2-2 tie against the Victor Valley College Rams (1-4-1) on Tuesday evening. It was all VVC early, and all OC late.

Victor Valley struck early, with Sarah Fort opening the scoring late in the first half, assisted by Jezabel Barajas. Early in the second half, Violet Whiting doubled the lead with an unassisted goal, putting the Rams ahead 2-0.

Despite the early setback, Oxnard did not back down. Brianna Rodriguez ignited the Condors' comeback, scoring in the 64th minute, after a precise assist from Jakeline Novela-Martinez (https://www.instagram.com/p/C_whfI8Acyt/). With renewed momentum, the Condors carried their fight late in the game. In the 89th minute, Novela-Martinez netted the equalizer with an unassisted effort, capping off Oxnard's stunning comeback.

"It was a real test of character for the team," said Oxnard Head Coach Emily Perez. "Going down 2-0 early is never easy, but we stayed composed and fought hard until the very end. I'm incredibly proud of their effort."

Victor Valley's defense, anchored by goalkeeper Monique Alvarez, stood firm in the second half but could not stop Novela-Martinez's late goal.

The result brings both teams to a 2-2 draw in a hard-fought contest at OC. With this game, the Condors remain focused on their goal to improve every game, taking valuable lessons from this comeback performance.
