Oxnard College Basketball celebrated eleven sophomores and one lifetime announcer.

OC hosted Santa Barbara CC on Friday night for the final basketball game of the season.  The women tipped off at 5:00 and men were scheduled for 7:00 pm.  Although both games went SBCC's way, the Condors fought to the very end.  The women fell 68-52, but came back from a 38-11 halftime deficit.  Gizelle Carreto led OC with 14 points, five steals, and five rebounds.  Sophomore Naomi Navarro had 13 points and nine rebounds.  Dennise Dominguez finished her sophomore campaign with 10 points and four rebounds.

Academically, the Condor's conceded nothing.  They excelled in the classroom, with a 3.5 cumulative GPA. The women completed the sport season, against all odds.  Through illnesses, injuries, resignation of the star player and assistant coach at the start of the season, the remaining women failed to concede anything.  They played hard for each other and improved to the point of several athletes earning an opportunity to continue playing at the next level.

Sophomores:

Naomi Navarro-Plannin on transferring to Georgia Southern for a bachelor's and eventually become an athletic trainer

Sofia Maldonado-Planning to transfer to CSUN or CSUCI and to work in the sports industry

Bianca Naranjo-Will receive her AAT in business administration and transferring to Humboldt State.
