Oxnard College Softball Dominates in WSC Victory Over Santa Monica, 14-0

April 10, 2025 — Santa Monica, CA — The Oxnard College softball team continued their Western State Conference (WSC) campaign with a commanding 14-0 shutout victory over Santa Monica College on Thursday afternoon. The Condors exploded for 14 runs on 17 hits, overwhelming the Corsairs in just five innings of play.

Pitcher Amber Cervantez was sensational in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout while striking out six and allowing just three hits. Cervantez also contributed offensively with two hits and two stolen bases.

The Condors' bats came alive in the later innings, highlighted by a nine-run fourth inning that broke the game wide open. Alizabeth Rosas sparked the offensive barrage with a bases-clearing double, finishing the day 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a stolen base.

Savannah Saxton also had a breakout game, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double. Isabela Nava was a force in the middle of the lineup, collecting three hits, three RBIs, and two stolen bases. Briana Guzman and Cece Vallejo each added RBI singles to keep the pressure on Santa Monica throughout the game.

The Condors' defense was flawless, committing no errors and turning a key double play between Cervantez and Nava.

With the win, Oxnard remains in the middle of the pack in WSC play with a 6-4 record and gaining momentum. The team looks to move up in the standings with a crucial make-up game against Moorpark College today at 2:00.
