OXNARD, Calif. – The Oxnard College softball team dominated in conference play on Tuesday, securing an 8-0 shutout victory over Santa Monica College at home. The Condors delivered an impressive all-around performance, showcasing strong pitching, solid defense, and an explosive offense to claim the win in just five innings.

Oxnard wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, plating three runs in the first inning. Amber Cervantez drove in the first run with an RBI single, followed by a groundout RBI from Julianna Lopez and another RBI single by Isabela Nava to give the Condors an early 3-0 lead.

The offensive surge continued in the second inning, with Cervantez adding another RBI groundout and Lopez following with an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-0. Oxnard tacked on an additional run in the third before sealing the victory with a two-run fifth inning, thanks to a clutch two-RBI single from Cervantez.

Cervantez was a force both at the plate and in the circle, finishing with four RBIs while pitching three shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five.
