Condors Outlast Santa Barbara

The Condors picked up a WSC win on Tuesday afternoon at Santa Barbara.  OC prevailed, 12-8 over SBCC, in eight innings.

Oxnard took the lead right from the start, by plating three runs in the first.  The Player of the Game, Mia Guerrero (4-4, 2B, 2R, 2RBI and the win) doubled in Jenna Fernandez, with a single by Cynthia Vallejo scoring Guerrero, and Amris Rabago (pic) knocking in Rylee McDaniel.

SBCC was able to score three runs in the third inning, to make the score 4-3.  OC extended the lead in the top of the fourth and sixth with hits by Fernandez, Guerrero, and Rabago, to put the score at 8-3.  Santa Barbara cam right back in the sixth and seventh innings, to tie the score at 8-8.

OC put the game away in the 8th inning with a walk, and a single by Juliann Herrera to score two, and a single by Gina Sosa.  

Guerrero got the win at 12-8.

"It was great to get another WSC win and we were stoked to not give up after they tied the game.  We were happy to pull it out on the road, with our bats working, up and down the line-up," responded Head Coach, Erin Lawley.
