The Condors took down College of the Desert 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The significance of this win is that the Condors have not lost a game in 25 straight contests.  That is over one year of collegiate competition that the state champions have achieved positive results.

College of the Desert was no easy opponent for the Condors.  The Roadrunners have signature wins over state runner-up Mt. SAC and San Diego Mesa College.

The Condors put COD on their heals, by scoring at the eight-minute mark.  Freshman, Juan Lopez, collected a pass from Jacobo Ortega, and finished with a blast into the net (https://www.instagram.com/p/Cx9feexrVI_/?hl=en).

COD equalized the score at 1-1 early in the second half on a goal by Yahir Garcia as the momentum began to shift toward Desert.  State Champion sophomore defender Emmanual Solis came back from an injury in the second half, and settled the Condors defense.  They mounted an attack with Solis leading the way at 62:00.  Solis draw a hard penalty from the COD goalie, Luis Lucio on a save attempt.  Andres Gutierrez calmly converted the PK into the lower right corner to give OC the lead for good.  Late in the game, Jonathan Alvarez scored on a counter attack to give the Champs some cushion to finish out the game.

The 2023 Men's Soccer team contniues to carry the torch and have put together a perfect start to the campaign.  A superfan yelled from the crowd "Welcome to the home of the Champions! You are welcome anytime."  Certainly, the Nest is the home of the Champions.

Go Condors!
