Despite notable performances by Luis Luhrs and Tommy English, OC dropped to 0-1 in conference play on Tuesday. Oxnard faced a formidable opponent in Santa Barbara Community College (8-5, 2-1). The Oxnard College team displayed resilience, with key plays and contributions from various players.  The Condors tied the score in the bottom of the 3rd, on two out hits by English and Luhrs (2b). Unfortunately, SBCC came back with runs in the next inning, to eventually take the game, 8-4.

Head Coach, Steve Hernandez, expressed optimism despite the defeat, emphasizing the early stage of the season and the learning opportunities for the team. "Facing strong competition in the WSC is essential for our growth. We will learn from this experience and continue to work hard to improve as the season progresses."

Oxnard College looks forward to continuing the series at SBCC on Thursday (2:00) and Saturday (1:00), aiming to bounce back.
