After a rough beginning to the baseball season, Oxnard got just what they needed on Tuesday afternoon.  Playing in a make-up game from the Reedley Baseball tournament over the weekend, the Condors hosted 2023 3C2A state champions, Santa Ana.

The Dons came out hot, holding the Condors scoreless through seven innings, while scoring one run in the second, fifth, and sixth innings.  Santa Ana held a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the eighth, when Aaron Alvarado walked, Cade Amine singled Reon Iwase to second, Luis Luhrs singled to score Alvarado. Danny Lucero was subsequently hit by a pitch, sending up Bryson Tsukayama-Daniel (https://www.instagram.com/p/C2vw_rHJHD9/?hl=en) with the bases loaded.  Tsukayama-Daniel hammered a grand slam over the left field wall to tied the game at 5-5.

Both teams were able to push across runs in the 10th inning to score the game at 6-6, with the game being called a tie after 11 frames.

The Condor pitching staff and freshman starter, Justin Bouts pitched admirably to hold Santa Ana to six runs. The defense backed up their pitchers, with no errors on the day.

The Condors travel to Reedly to play two games on Saturday and Sunday, depending on the weather.
