Oxnard Baseball has been battling all year, and on Wednesday it finally paid off in the form of a 4-3 non-conference win over Rio Hondo College.
The Condors trailed the entire game, but came up big in the ninth inning. Hot-hitting Mark Hernandez (1-3, 1RBI) singled home Austin Macial to tie the score at 3-3. Antonio Gonzalez drove home Raul Sandoval (2-4, 1R, 1RBI) for the winning tally, 4-3.
This offense gave winning pitcher, Jason Gomez (2-2) all he needed to earn the complete game victory. Gomez pitched a four-hit gem, striking out six Roadrunners along the way.
Daniel Cabral was 2-5 on the day to stay hot at the plate as well.
Oxnard travels to Santa Ana College on Thursday, April 18th at 2:00 pm.
