The Oxnard Condor baseball squad is fighting to stay in the WSC race.  They traveled to Ventura College on Tuesday and came away with a hard-fought 13-9 win at the Sports Complex.

Ray Chacon earned his fifth win on the season, with Jason Gomez picking up his second save.

Daniel Cabral was 3 for 4 on the afternoon, with four runs scored, and an RBI.  Ramon Gomez was 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBI's.  Niko Lima continued to swing a power bat, blasting his sixth HR of the season.  Austin Maciel was 1 for 3 with three RBI's.

The game went back and fourth, until the seventh inning when OC claimed the lead for good.

Thursday's final game between the two cross-county rivals did not go as well for the Condors.

VC jumped out to an early lead on several miscues, 2-0 after one inning.

In the bottom of the second, Austin Maciel (1-3, 2 runs, 1 RBI) brought OC within one run with a towering home run to center.

In the fourth and fifth innings, VC tacked on five more runs, on an HR by Jacob Harris and a combination of VC hits and OC errors.

Oxnard clawed back into the game on an RBI triple by Raul Sandoval (2-4, 3 runs, and 2 RBI's), and RBI singles by Niko Lima and Sandoval.

Ramon Gomez was 2 for 5 on the day, and Michael Jester was 2-3, but Oxnard did not play solidly on the defensive side, suffering a 10-5 defeat.

The Condors are back in action on Saturday, April 6th as they host Hancock College at 1:00
