The struggle is real for the upstart Condors to begin WSC North action. After posting double-figures in much of the first half of the season, the bats have gone silent for first-year head coach Steve Hernandez, with OC dropping a 4-2 decision to Moorpark College
"This team battles on every pitch...every at-bat, but we are just having a tough time right now," said Hernandez. "I hate to lose, and so do these guys. We have to figure it out."
Not all is lost starting 0-4 as the pitching has been solid. Raymond Chacon went 6 1/3 innings in relief, and gave up zero runs, five hits, and struck out five Raiders during Wednesday's make-up game.
Jose Parga was 2-4, with an RBI and a BB, with teammate Adrian Sandoval going 2-3 on the day.
Oxnard will host Allan Hancock College on Thursday afternoon, at 2:30. They travel to Santa Maria on Saturday at 1:00 to complete the two-game series.
