Condor Pitching Solid; Offense Sputtering

WSC Losses
WSC Losses

Oxnard College Baseball dropped the first two WSCN games 4-1 and 3-2 on Friday and Saturday.

In the home opener against Moorpark, OC and the Raiders were tied through seven innings of play, 1-1.  With Brandon Townley (7.1 innings, 6 hits, 1 ER) pitching great to hold MC to only one earned run, the Condors had several chances to put runs on the board.

OC's offense only managed one run, on five hits.  Niko Lima plated Austin Maciel in the first inning with a single.  After averaging nearly nine runs through the first 15 games of the season, the Condors have only three in their first two WSC games.

In the second conference matchup on Saturday, the Condors fell 3-2 to Ventura College.

Another good outing by the Oxnard pitching staff, however, with Shane Flaningam having a quality start, going 5 1/3 and allowing only three runs.  Jason Gomez came on in relief, and gave up only one hit in 2 1/3 innings of work.

The Condors look to level the series against both VC and MC as they host both on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
