Baseball Has Signature Win against Top-Ranked Orange Coast

If there were any questions about OC Baseball's ability to hit, they were put to rest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Condors scored 16 runs on 15 hits against top-ranked Orange Coast College.

Ramon Gomez and Raul Sandoval continue their torrid pace at the plate.  Gomez was 3 for 5, with three runs scored, three RBI's, and a double.  Sandoval was 2-4, with three RBI's, two runs scored, and a double.  Jose Parga was 2-4 while scoring two runs.  Nico Lima went 2-5 with two RBI's and three runs, while Esequil Rivera was 2-4 on the day.

Even better for Oxnard was the pitching and defense.  Starter Brandon Townley went six strong innings, only allowing three runs to the high-octane Pirates (batting .314 as a team).  While Towley picked up the win, Shane Flaningam was nearly unhittable in two innings of relief.

Oxnard will certainly use the confidence from this signature win to carry in to WSC play.  They open the conference next Tuesay, March 5th at Moorpark College at 2:00.
