Oxnard College Condor Women's Basketball Team Ready for WSC Play

Oxnard, CA – January 7, 2025 – The Oxnard College Condor women's basketball team is set to embark on their Western State Conference (WSC) journey with a sense of determination and optimism. Despite a challenging start to the season with a 2-7 record, the Condors are eager to showcase their growth and resilience as they enter conference play.

OC has shown flashes, particularly in their home games, where they have secured two victories. With a roster full of potential and a strong team spirit, the Condors are poised to make significant strides in the conference.

Leading the team is Makayla Low, who has been a standout performer, averaging 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Alongside her, Janelle Jimenez and Alyssa Galelayah-Tapia have been key contributors, bringing energy and skill to the court.

The Condors will open their WSC play with a home game against Hancock College on Wednesday's DH at 5:00 pm. This game marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the team as they aim to turn their season around and compete.

"We are excited to start our conference play and see how far we've come as a team," said Head Coach Ron McClurkin.
