Oxnard College Cross Country Set to Host 9th Annual Invitational

The Oxnard College Harriers are gearing up to kick off their 2024 season by hosting the 9th Annual Oxnard College Cross Country Invitational. Led by Head Coach Aaron Sharp and Assistant Coach Elsa Guerrero, the young and dynamic Condors are ready to showcase their talents tomorrow, Friday, September 6th.

The competition will take place at the OC Sports Complex, with the women's 5K race and men's 4-mile race starting and finishing at the complex. This event promises to deliver exciting performances from both veteran and freshman athletes as they navigate the scenic course.

The women's team, anchored by experienced runners Maryjane Arreola, Savannah Landaverde, and Marylynn Mendieta, presents a balanced lineup. Newcomers Ariana Villalobos-Castillo, Alex Keaveney, Hailey Ortiz, Marisol Mohedano, Celia Maya Garcia, and Karol Patino will also make their debut for the Condors, adding fresh talent and enthusiasm to the squad.

On the men's side, the Condors will be represented by a strong group of competitors, including Reyes Gonzales, Oscar Guzman, Guadalupe Lopez, Oscar Martinez, Darian Ojeda, Edwin Salvador, Edgardo Santiago Gaytan, and Carlos Villagomez.

The OC Invitational marks the first of several competitions for Oxnard College's cross-country teams this season, and the Condors are eager to make a strong start.

Date: Friday, September 6, 2024 

Location: OC Sports Complex, Oxnard College 

Women's Race: 5K 

Men's Race: 4 Miles 

Time: Start time is 9:00 AM for women, followed by the men's race at 10:00 AM
