Women's Soccer Wrap Up

Sophomore celebration
Sophomore celebration

Although the Condors did not reach the post-season, the Women's Soccer team is climbing the ranks and improving under Head Coach, Emily Perez.

Early on, the Condors were 5-0 and ranked in the top-20 in Southern California.  Injuries and a lack of depth kept OC from churning out wins, but the future is bright, with ten freshman returning for next year.

The Condors wrapped up their 22-23 soccer season with 34 goals and a 6-10-2 overall record. During their last home game, the team honored their four sophomores (pic). Denisse Garcia, who lead the team with 17 goals and 1 assist. Carmen Gonzalez, team captain had 3 goals and 4 assists. Daisy Ramos was also team captain and finished the season with 1 goal. Valerie Magallanes was a crucial leader for the Condors backline.

"The team reached many goals this year including tying Ventura College 0-0 in conference play and scoring more goals than the previous season" said Head Coach Emily Perez. "Although the results of some games were not what we wanted, I am proud of this team for playing their hardest and leaving it all on the field. I am excited to continue working with this next group, improving on what was already a really positive season for us."
