The Condors are not going lightly in 2022.
After tough stretches in the season, OC Baseball has put together a modest three-game winning streak, with a 10-8 win over Rio Hondo on Saturday.
Johnny Alvarez (3-5, 3 RBI) singled home Adrian Sandoval (2-5, 3R), to give Oxnard the 1-0 lead in the first. The lead didn't last too long, however, as Rio Hondo's Jordan Salgado hit a grand slam in the second inning to give the Roadrunners the 4-1 lead.
After falling behind 5-1 in the 5th, Alvarez again drove in Sandoval, to cut the lead to 5-2. Michael Murray drove in Kaden Tsuji, Jesse Romero singled home Alvarez, and Niko Sacolles scored to tie the score at 5-5. Rio Hondo grabbed the lead again in the bottom of the sixth, but OC rallied for two in the 7th and 8th innings, to reclaim the lead, 10-6.
Trevor Hammond was able to hold off the Roadrunners over four innings to collect his second win on the season.
Oxnard will host SBCC on Tuesday, April 19th from 2:30 pm #inthenest.
