On a glorious day on the diamond, Oxnard split a DH against Cuesta College on Saturday.  Oxnard College was thrilled to have Trustee Josh Chancer on hand to throw out the first pitch commemorating the return to play in the Condor's Nest. Trustee Josh Chancer throws first pitch

The score of game one was 6-3 in favor of the Cougars (7 innings). Second baseman, Daniel Cabral and Taylor Tractenberg in left field led OC with two hits each. Tractenberg also scored a pair of runs for the Condors, but they were unable to escape the fifth inning that saw Cuesta push across three runs.  Lucien Wechsberg (L, 0-1) took the loss but pitched well overall.  Robert Schardt picked up three strikeouts in three innings of no-run relief.

The second game was a high-scoring win for Oxnard's first of the season.  The bats came alive, with Nicholas Wolfrey 2b(pic) going 4-4, with 5 RBI's in the game.

Dylan Lopez (W, 1-0) picked up his first collegiate win.  Isaiah Gonzalez cf, had two hits and made a highlight-reel catch in center field.  Erick Martinez and Michael Jester each scored times to give OC the 10-7 win.

The Condors continue the season on Thursday when they travel to Ventura to play the Pirates in game one at 11:30 am. No attendance is allowed at this time, but VC will stream the game on Instagram @venturacollegebaseball.
