Juliette Marquez Named Women's Basketball Assistant

Coach Juliette Marquez is entering her 11th year of coaching basketball and is excited to be back at Oxnard College as an Assistant Coach. Juliette began her career coaching at Santa Clara High School for six years before completing her second year at Oxnard College and moving to San Bernardino to be an Assistant at San Bernardino Valley College in the 2017/2018 season. Upon her return from San Bernardino, Juliette continued at Santa Clara as an English, Science and History teacher and eventually took over as head coach in the 18/19 and 19/20 seasons. Forcing a three-way tie for Tri-Valley League Champions in 2020, Juliette was voted Tri-Valley Coach of the Year and Co-County Coach of the Year.

 A graduate from Saint Bonaventure High School in Ventura in 2010, Juliette received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Performing Arts Theater from California State University Channel Islands in 2015. During her time at CSU Channel Islands, she was also enrolled and playing at Oxnard College (from 2015-2017), Coach Marquez lead the Women's basketball team in scoring both years and voted to the 1st Team all-Western State Conference for both years of her athletic eligibility. While still coaching, Juliette received her Masters of Science from Azusa Pacific University in Physical Education in 2019. Juliette is currently studying to receive her Doctorate in Psychology: Performance Psychology from Grand Canyon University.

 Born and raised in Ventura County, Juliette has a deep connection to the community and urgency to give back to the county that raised her. When not in the gym, she enjoys watching the WNBA, quoting A League of Their Own, mentoring her student-athletes and taking care of her cat Hoot.
