Oxnard had a 7-6 lead heading in to the bottom of the ninth inning on Tuesday afternoon at LA Valley College.

They collected 11 hits, including Mark Hernandez going 2-4 with a triple, double, two runs scored and two RBI's.  Kurt Trotter was 2-3 with a run scored and RBI, and Salud Martinez came in to pinch hit, and promptly smashed an RBI double.

These efforts were spoiled by Jason Ajamian of LA Valley, who was 3-4 on the day, with two doubles and a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

"That one hurt," said head coach Steve Hernandez. "He is certainly their best hitter, but we played well enough to get a win."  Hernandez continues to praise his team, however, "...we coninue to play hard, and hope to get a win from the solid effort."

Oxnard will be on the road Wednesday at Rio Hondo CC, and at Santa Ana on Thursday agains Santa Ana.  The next home game is Saturday at 1:00 when OC hosts LA Mission College.
