Women's Basketball Honors the Flag before Tuesday's Game

The Women's Basketball Team got a big win over the University of LaVerne JV on Tuesday night, 68-60.  The team played consistent basketball, with everybody involved.

This came on the heals of a nice win over a very capable Alumni team last Saturday.  "I saw some good things from the team in both games," said head coach Ron McClurkin.  "They are playing hard and improving each time out on the floor."

It was the Condors third win on the young season, with Hartnell on the schedule for Thursday, December 19th.  The game has become a double-header, with the men tipping off at 3:00 pm and the women at 5:00.

The women's schedule has been altered by the Western State Conference as both Cuesta College and LA Pierce were unable to field teams for the WSC portion of play.  The first WSC contest won't be held until January 22nd against Ventura College, at 5:00 pm in the Nest.

The men have one win on the season, coming against the University of Antelope JV, 105-98.  They are in the midst of a three-game tournament at Santa Barbara Community College.  The first game saw the Condors come up short against Long Beach City College, 94-68.  Freshman Zion Speller put up a game-high 31 points to go along with six boards.

OC will tipoff today against Bakersfield at 2:00 pm.
