Condor XC Shows Speed at SoCal Preview

The Condors travelled to Mission Bay Park in San Diego to compete in the SoCal Preview Meet and put in some solid performances all around in the windy afternoon conditions.

In the Women's race, the Lady Condors placed an impressive 7th place in the 23 scoring teams in the race.  Leading off was Angelica Alcala finishing in 15th with a time of 20:36 for the grassy 5K course.  Melody Salazar continuing to be the second scoring lady on the team placed 30th with a time of 21:35.  Araceli Rodriguez remaining consistent placed 36th with a time of 21:45.  Esther Gomez placed 93rd with a time of 23:29.  Rounding out the team score was Kimberly Acosta in 104th place with a time of 23:47.  Laura Carmona was in 111th place with a time of 23:58.  Fiona Rodriguez placed 123rd with a time of 24:22.  Lesley Arenas debuted her freshman season finishing in 137th place with a time of 25:04.  Mayra Munguia placed 168th with a time of 27:13.  Maricela Betancourt also making her debut finished in 177th with a time of 27:55.

In the Men's race, the Condors finished in 20th place without two key members to the team, but still put in strong individual performances.  JD Martinez continuing to lead the way finished in 17th place with a time of 21:58 for the 4 mile course.  Eric Rios also finishing strong placed 23rd with a time of 22:07.  Jonathan Juarez finished in 195th with a time of 29:38.  Pedro Martinez rounded out the team score in 201st with a time of 32:48.  Just behind was Sonny Lopez opening up his freshman season in 202nd place with a time of 33:06.
