The Condors Finish First and Second at the VC Invite
August 30th, 2019—Ventura, CA
In the Women's Race, the Lady Condors placed an impressive 2nd place just behind Ventura. Leading the way was Angelica Alcala finishing in 2nd with a time of 22:14 for the tough 5K course. Melody Salazar finished in 7th place with a time of 23:31. Araceli Rodriguez broke into the Top 10 with a time of 23:51. Esther Gomez finished in 14th place with a time of 25:03. Kimberly Acosta rounded out the team score in 18th place with a time of 25:54. Laura Carmona finished in 24th place with a time of 27:35. Just behind was Mayra Munguia in 25th place with a time of 28:54. Fiona Rodriguez finished in 27th place with a time of 29:02.
In the Men's Race, the Condors took home the win for the first time in Oxnard history at this invitational to edge out College of the Canyons by just 3 points! JD Martinez led the way for the Condors winning the race overall with a time of 22:30 for the 4 mile course. Sophomore Ricky Torres opened up his season to finish just behind his teammate in 2nd place with a time of 22:36. Eric Rios placed 4th with a time of 22:50. Freshman Salvador Gonzalez also opened his season finishing in 5th place with a time of 23:51. Jonathan Juarez rounded out the team score finishing 54th place with a time of 31:51.
