Condors Level Record; Gomez Hits for Cycle

The Condors hosted the Compton Tartar baseball team on Friday afternoon, and things looked bad for OC to start the game.

Oxnard fell behind 7-1 in the third inning, and many in the crowd were hoping for the rain to come.  Instead, Oxnard's bats came alive in the following five innings.

Ramon Gomez begin the hit parade with a deep fly to center field, to wake OC up.  Gomez ended up hitting for the cycle, going 4-4, with six RBI's.  Raul Sandoval tied the game in the 6th inning with a home run to left field (https://t.co/fO22DKN70t).

The Condors tacked on four more runs in the sixth inning, with Jose Parga and Niko Lima playing big roles.  Parga was 3-4 with three runs, and Lima was 2-4 with three runs scored.

Ray Chacon came on in relief, and earned his first collegiate win, going five innings, giving up three hits, and striking out six Tartars.

"It was a really nice team win.  All of our guys contributed, and I was happy to see us battle back," said new OC Head Coach, Steve Hernandez.

Oxnard is scheduled to be back in action at Citrus on February 5th at 2:00, weather permitting.
