Slow Starts Continue to Haunt Condors

The men's basketball team fell behind by 20 points on Wednesday night to the Moorpark Raiders, and were unable to overcome the deficit, falling 90-83.

With too many turnovers and not enough rebounds in the first frame, OC found themselves down 47-27.  Brandon Russell and Justice De Corsi had 20 and 19 respectively, to lead MC.

Oxnard turned it around in the second half, with KV Myricks leading the charge.  The sophomore from Merrillville HS posted 26 points, dished out six assists, and grabbed four rebounds to lead the Condors.  Freshman Wesley Salandich put up 13 points to go along with five rebounds, while fellow forward, Tahj Comeaux had 12 rebounds.

Assistant Coach, Sampson Brue, coached his second game in a row, filling in for Head Coach Ron McClurkin.  "We have to start better and keep up our intensity for a full 40 minutes," commented Brue.  "We will play better on Saturday."

The Condors will travel to Santa Barbara on Saturday.  Tipoff is slated for 5:00 as the Vaqueros will host their annual Coaches vs. Cancer game.  Please go cheer on the Condors and support an excellent cause.
